About Nanouk Films
Nanouk Films is a production company founded in Barcelona in 2002 and headed by Ventura Durall and Sergi Cameron, specialising in the creation and production of original fiction and creative documentary content for film and television.
With more than 40 productions in its catalogue, including feature films, short films and series, Nanouk has received over one hundred awards and recognitions at national and international festivals. Among the most notable are the Jury Grand Prize at the Locarno Film Festival for Dead Slow Ahead; the FIPRESCI International Critics' Prize for Bugarach; the official selection of The Hidden Smile at the Sundance Film Festival; the Roger Ebert Award and the Gaudí Award for Alcaldessa (Ada for Mayor); Best Director at the Guadalajara International Film Festival and Best Film at Cinespaña Toulouse for Fauna; Best Short Film at FIDBA for Skin Despair; the Jury's Honourable Mention at DocsMX for Self-Exhibitions; Best Film and Best Actor at the Málaga Film Festival and the ARTE Audience Award for Yo la busco; Best First Feature at Cinespaña Toulouse and Best Film at the Málaga Film Festival for Ojos Negros; the Jury Award at Porto/Post/Doc for Niños somos todos; a Jury Mention at SEMINCI for El niño de fuego; the Jury Award at DocsBarcelona for Hágase tu voluntad (May Your Will Be Done); and, more recently, Best European Series at Prix Europa and the Ondas Award for Best Comedy Series for Això no és Suècia.
Beyond film and television, Nanouk Films also develops projects in other areas of audiovisual creation. It has produced music videos for artists including Jorge Drexler, Bunbury, Mishima, Los Planetas, Nena Daconte, Joe Crepúsculo and Andrés Calamaro, among others, as well as cultural communication and advertising campaigns for more than thirty clients, including the Centro Dramático Nacional, Temporada Alta, Barcelona City Council and the United Nations. In this field, the company achieved the distinction of winning three Laus Gold Awards in three consecutive years, as well as a Grand Laus for the campaign The Pleasure Island.
The company also has extensive experience in museum and exhibition projects. Among the most notable are the Spanish Pavilion at the 2012 International Exposition in Korea; the complete conceptualisation, design and execution of the Calafell Archaeological Park (2014); the Montjuïc Castle Interpretation Centre (2015); and various projects for institutions such as the Museum of the History of Catalonia, the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía and Arts Santa Mònica.
